About the Course
The Diploma in Server and Network Management is a New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA) approved and accredited programme of study. It provides advanced study in the management of servers and networks in a medium to large sized environment.This qualification has been designed to target students who have already completed a programme of study in IT at Level 6 or who have equivalent skills and knowledge.Graduates of this diploma will be able to design, implement and manage LAN and WAN businesses, demonstrate a critical understanding of managing the router configuration, be able to configure and troubleshoot networks and secure switched networks effectively using VLANs, trunking and spanning tree.In addition, graduates will be equipped with the skills and knowledge essential for implementing, managing, maintaining, and provisioning services and infrastructure in a Windows Server environment. Graduates will also be able to monitor key infrastructure elements and applications that run within private & public clouds.Graduates can also specialise in any two of the following: IT Service Management or Exchange Servers OR IT Project Management or Network Security Management.

Entry Criteria

Basic degree: any national diploma (college, bachelor, institute) and work experience in IT.

English entry

  • IELTS overall band score of at least 6.0 (Academic), no individual band less than 5.5

Further Prospective

After graduation from Diploma Level 7, and deriving a Job Search Visa by student for employment.

Student’s family allowed to get for the first year of partner’s study and second year of seeking for job- work visa (for second partner) for employment for any job position and Domestic student visa (for children) for attention school for free of charge.

Student can continue study for:

Bachelor of Information Technology or related studies

Job Opportunities

Graduates will also be able to work as IT technicians, system engineers, server engineers, network technicians, cloud services specialists, system administrators.

Visas for family

A holder of a student visa for study at Diploma program level 7 in IT can bring his family members to New Zealand. Student’s family allowed to get a work visa (partner) for employment for any job position and a domestic student visa (for children) which enables them to attend school free-of-charge.

Founds for living expenses

According to immigration rules, any international student, must have enough money to pay for the course and also 15,000 NZD per one study year. For any additional person evidence of 4200 NZD per year as living expenses is required.
