About the Course


A strong focus of Diploma In Software Development is on group and individual projects . Projects involve the application of project management tools and techniques, system modeling and design, and coding skills. In their final term, learners will demonstrate all the knowledge and skills acquired in the three earlier terms through a capstone project. Learners of Diploma In Software Development are able to develop a portfolio that can be presented to potential employers on completion of the program.


This Diploma aims to equip students with the theoretical and applied knowledge and skills in the specialised area of software development including mobile applications development. The job opportunities in software development industry are increasing, and this program will furnish our graduates with the necessary skills to increase their career prospects in this field. Students who are entering directly into this diploma will be expected to have knowledge in the fundamentals of software development and databases prior to enrolment. However, the program is also customised for applicants who have relevant non IT degree and are seeking a career change, and those who have work experience and are
looking for a qualification to confirm their experience.


Diploma In Software Development graduate will be capable to work with autonomy or contribute to the work of teams in the development and planning of software applications using appropriate methodologies, techniques, tools and available technologies. Graduates will develop strong sense of ethics and professionalism.


Entry Criteria


Basic degree: any national diploma (college, bachelor, institute) and work experience in IT.

  • IELTS overall band score of at least 6.0 (Academic), no individual band less than 5.5

Visas for family

A holder of a student visa for study at Diploma program level 7 in IT can bring his family members to New Zealand. Student’s family allowed to get a work visa (partner) for employment for any job position and a domestic student visa (for children) which enables them to attend school free-of-charge.

Founds for living expenses

According to immigration rules, any international student, must have enough money to pay for the course and also 15,000 NZD per one study year. For any additional person evidence of 4200 NZD per year as living expenses is required.
